Just another WordPress.com site

One of my favorite ways to procrastinate is to go on Tumblr. Tumblr is another blogging site, one of the easiest to use that I’ve ever seen. People use tumblrs for blogs on any topic under the sun, so it’s easy to find a blog about things that you’re interested in. All you have to do is create your own tumblr, find blogs that you like, either by Googling or by searching tags in the search box, click “Follow,” and the posts from the blog will show up on your dashboard. To create a post, all you have to do is click the ribbon at the top of the dashboard, which looks like this:

Simply pick the type of post you want to make and voila! Could it get any easier? I don’t think so!

A lot of people use Tumblr as a means of displaying graphics that they’ve made on Photoshop or gifs they’ve made with other software, usually having to do with popular books, movies, TV shows, and the like. When someone makes a post, other Tumblr users have the option to either “Like” the post or “Reblog” the post on their own personal blog. It’s quick, easy, and super addicting. Tumblr is a haven for the fangirls and fanboys, really. Any “fandom” you can imagine has many blogs devoted to it, whether it’s Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Firefly, Supernatural, or Doctor Who. There are blogs devoted to particular celebrities, fashion blogs, and purely random blogs like Animals Talking In All Caps and Things Organized Neatly, which are two of my personal favorites.

You may be asking, why didn’t you choose to use Tumblr for this project? Well, my Tumblr is more of a place for my obsessions, and I thought WordPress would be a bit more professional and keep school and play separate. That said, Tumblr is an excellent place for personal blogs of any type and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
